stubborn as a mule!

cufflinks

Guernsey people (Guerns) are known for being proud, stubborn and fiercely independent and the tongue in cheek symbol that they adopted was a donkey. Andy Priaulx, double World Touring Car Champion, included the mule in his helmet design and hasn’t looked back since with his racing career.

Guernsey jeweller Martyn Guille saw the design and has designed cufflinks which are now on sale with 50% of profits being donated to the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation.

Both of Andy and his wife Jo's children were under 4lbs when they were born. The support they received was amazing, but they could see that the time and effort that goes into the care of premature babies could be greatly assisted by improved local facilities. They established the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation and have raised over £40,000 for the charity since it was established. The money is used for facilities such as for a new monitor for the Guernsey Premature Baby Unit that cost £15,000 and means that more young babies can be accommodated which avoids babies and their families having to be transferred to the mainland.

"I'd like to think I'm more determined than as stubborn as a mule but I'm definitely proud of my Guernsey heritage." said Andy. "Martyn's done a great job on the cufflinks and hopefully while people are buying them for Christmas presents I'll be out 'kicking ass' on the track!"

The cufflinks are £46.00 for the silver ones and £258 for the gold, price may be subject to VAT if buying from UK subject to confirmation.
