For Andy Priaulx racing in the British GT Championship this weekend with Sir Chris Hoy was enjoyable and thanks to Multimatic Motorsports he was also able to drive in the same team as his son Sebastian. While Andy and the legendary track cyclist were guest drivers in the fifth round of the championship in Spa-Francorchamps, for Sebastian and Scott Maxwell this was an important race as they are fighting for the championship. At the end of the two-hour race on the 7.004 kilometre (4.352 mile) Belgian track, Sebastian and Scott finished sixth in their Mustang GT4 and Andy and Chris 14thin their category. “We had a fantastic weekend and I am really pleased Seb and Scott have managed to collect some important championship points, even though it was not a circuit that was suited to us. The Priaulx v Priaulx battle was intense and, while I managed to pip him in qualifying when he was on a wet set-up and I was on a dry set-up, his fastest lap in the race was quicker than mine. I would like to thank Larry Holt and Multimatic for letting me have this opportunity. It is a weekend I will never forget,” he said. Looking forward to what comes next he said: “I am so proud of Seb and now we can have a bit of a break. Seb will be back in action in a couple of weeks in the British GT Championship at Brands Hatch, while for me the next race with be in the FIA World Touring Car Cup in China in September. However, the memories of this weekend will stay with me for a long time.”
